The history of the club dates back to 2009 when a group of graduates from Goldsmiths College, University of London in New Cross decided to continue their passion for playing together. They established a club called Oldsmiths Athletic FC.
Several years later, in 2013, another group of graduates did the same thing and established Academic Football Club New Cross. In 2014, the two sides decided they were better together and merged to form Academic Football Club Oldsmiths.
Now playing in the historic Southern Amateur League, the club provides a home to graduates and local footballers looking for Saturday afternoon football.
The club continues to maintain formal links with Goldsmiths College, sharing a home ground with the football side and offering a discounted rate to students and recent graduates.
AFC Oldsmiths is an ethical football club, providing an open and inclusive atmosphere for football and partnering with men’s mental health charity CALM.
